The website is MINISTRY OF TUITION SG’s ownership (hereinafter referred to “Ministry of Tuition”, “MOT”, “we” or “our”). These Terms and Conditions govern the tutor-matching process till MOT’s receipt of payment from the parents (“Client”). By submitting a tutor request via the online form on this website, you agreed to accept all Terms and Conditions written in this page.
Ministry of Tuition charges no registration fees to the Client, it is a free service for us to find suitable tutors. There is no contract to obligate the Client to complete a fixed number of lessons, hence the Client can terminate the tuition anytime. The Client is charged the tuition fees arising from every lesson conducted by tutors recommended by MOT.
Ministry of Tuition will charge 50% of the first month tuition fees on the tutor as commission of our services. The commission will be collected directly from the Client. Subsequent tuition fees shall be paid directly to the tutor by the Client. We do not charge GST on the tuition fees. The same commission rate applies in the event of an early termination by the Client.
MOT will make sure that the tutor profiles are as accurate as possible. We conduct checks on the track records and validity of the profiles to ensure the quality of our tutors.The Client can request for the tutor to bring along academic certifications on the first lesson or we can forward it to the Client with tutors’ consent. MOT condemn any disinformation in the tutor profile, once notified, we will immediately remove and blacklist the tutor from our database. However, we do not guarantee that the profiles are completely error-free.
MOT will recommend the best available tutor to the Clients. We do not guarantee that the tutor(s) that we recommend is an exact match to the Clients’ requirements. Neither do we promise an improvement in the tutees’ grades
The rates displayed on the tuition rates page are according to the current market and should only serve as a reference. Specific rates of each tutor differs due to different qualifications and experience. Once both the Client and tutor agree to a certain rate and the first lesson has been confirmed, the rate is non-negotiable for the first few lessons which fees are liable for commission to MOT. Subsequent tuition rates may be renegotiated between the Client and the tutor, without MOT’s involvement.
There are two modes in which lessons are conducted: Physical or Online lessons. Lessons are usually conducted at Client’s home. The Client may request for the tuition lessons to be conducted at another place of residence or a convenient public area such as cafes and libraries. Any change to the location and timing of the tuition lessons after the initial confirmation should be clearly communicated to the tutor and should be agreed upon prior to the start of the subsequent lessons. Tuition lessons can also be conducted on online meeting platforms such as Zoom or Google Meet. Tutor will prepare online resources prior to the lessons. Clients and Tutors should troubleshoot their devices before the start of each lesson to ensure a conducive and productive lesson.
Postponement of the first and second lesson has to be made at least 12 hours in advance of the lesson, except for valid reasons subject to the discretion of MOT. You have to inform MOT via phone call/WhatsApp at +65 8785 3008. A confirmation message will be sent to you via WhatsApp or SMS to acknowledge the receipt of your intention to postpone and thereafter we will arrange for a rescheduled lesson. A postponement of the first or second lesson less than 12 hours before the agreed-upon lesson timing will be liable for compensation. The compensation will be 50% of the supposed lesson(s) fee, of which 50% will be allocated to the tutor for the time loss and 50% to MOT for administrative purposes. Postponement of subsequent lessons is to be arranged between the Client and the tutor.
The Client can terminate lessons with a tutor anytime, but should be made at least 12 hours in advance of the first and second lesson respectively, without incurring any additional fees. Clients are encouraged to terminate after the second lesson to ensure a fair opportunity given to the tutor and to make a more informed judgment about the tutor’s teaching ability. The Client will need to pay for the lessons conducted by the tutor thus far. If the Client has decided to terminate the tuition, the Client needs to notify MOT via a call or WhatsApp +65 8785 3008, MOT will collect any feedback and thereafter arrange for another tutor. Any termination made less than 12 hours before the first or second lesson will incur a compensation. The compensation will be 50% of the supposed lesson(s) fee, of which 50% will be allocated to the tutor for the time loss and 50% to MOT for administrative purposes.
Once the Client and tutor has confirmed the first lesson, a confirmation email containing the invoice stating the payment details will be sent to the Client. The invoice will detail the amount due and various payment methods.

For all payment methods, the Client should retain the original proof of payment and promptly send it to 8785 3008 via WhatsApp. MOT will acknowledge the receipt of the payment once confirmed.
For any assignments with a commitment period of 7 weeks or less, MOT will charge a commission equivalent to 25% of the total remaining lesson fees on the tutor or 50% of the first month, whichever is lower. This is to ensure that the commission will not greatly reduce the tutor’s potential earnings.
The Client can request for physical or online paid trial lessons. The Client is charged on every lesson that the tutor has conducted. If the Client does not wish to continue with the tutor after the first lesson, the Client still has to pay the first lesson tuition fees. Any free trial lesson arrangements are subjected to agreement of the tutor.

Registering a Tutor profile with Ministry of Tuition is free. A Tutor has to be minimally 18 years old and reside in Singapore even if he/she wishes to take up only online assignments in the future. It is the Tutor’s responsibility to ensure that all of the information provided such as Education background is true, accurate and up-to-date. Digital copies of certificates or proof of qualifications uploaded on our registration form will not be sent to the Client without Tutor’s consent. MOT reserves the right to conduct checks to verify the accuracy of Tutor’s qualifications. MOT reserves the right to reject Tutors’ application to be registered with us as well as blacklist Tutors.
Ministry of Tuition will contact shortlisted Tutors whose Clients are interested in engaging. The purpose of contacting is for further discussions and will not constitute a confirmation of the assignment. Once the Client has chosen a Tutor, a confirmation message will be sent to the Tutor with details of the first lesson. Due to manpower issues, MOT will not contact Tutors that were not selected and does not guarantee that those who have been contacted will be selected eventually.
MOT will charge 50% of the first month tuition fees on the Tutor as commission for our tutor-matching services. The commission will be collected directly from the Client. Subsequent tuition fees shall be paid directly to the Tutor by the Client. For short-term assignments (assignments lasting 7 weeks or less), the commission will be equivalent to 25% of the total remaining lesson fees.
Tutors have to be professional at all times when conducting the lessons. The Client has the right to terminate future lessons because punctuality and dress code issues. If the Tutor did not turn up for the agreed upon lessons without informing MOT or the Client, MOT has the right to cancel the assignment and blacklist the Tutor.
Postponement of either the first or second tuition lesson has to be made at least 12 hours in advance of the lesson, except for valid reasons subject to the discretion of Ministry of Tuition. You have to inform Ministry of Tuition via phone call/WhatsApp at +65 8785 3008. Multiple late postponement may result in termination of lessons by the Client and decreased chances of getting future assignments with MOT.
The compensation will be equivalent to 50% of the supposed lesson(s) fee, of which 50% will be allocated to the Tutor for the time loss and 50% to MOT for administrative purposes.
The Tutor can choose to terminate the assignment after the second lesson without incurring a penalty imposed by MOT. Termination of assignment by the Tutor after conducting two or less lessons, regardless of the reason, will result in total loss of earnings. MOT will take 100% of the total lesson fees thus far. This is to compensate MOT for the loss of trust by the Client.
Trial lessons paid or unpaid are subjected to the Tutor’s agreement. Every trial lesson arrangement has to go through Ministry of Tuition in order to protect the Tutors’ interest.
1.1 This Data Protection & Privacy Policy written on this web page explains how MINISTRY OF TUITION SG (hereinafter referred to as “Ministry of Tuition”, “MOT”, “We”, “Our”, or “Us”) manages your Personal Data.
1.2 “User”, or “You” refers to any person who uses this website or engages MOT’s services. “Tutor” refers to persons who have registered as a tutor on our website or on our telegram bot. “Client” refers to persons who have submitted a request for a tutor on this website or via any means of communication such as phone call, Whatsapp or through social media platforms.
1.3 This privacy policy is applicable to all visitors and users who access or use this Website or engage in our services. Ministry of Tuition values both our clients’ and tutors’ privacy and treats the personal information provided with confidentiality and respect.
1.4 If you wish to stop engaging in our services or remove your particulars or details from our database, please email to admin@ministryoftuition.sg. We will process the withdrawal or removal within 7 business days.
2.1 Personal Data and information that we collect are through our tutor request forms, tutor registration forms, phone calls, WhatsApp messages, emails etc. Information transmitted through any form of direct communication to us shall be presumed to be “collected”, unless explicitly stated by the user. Information that users enter into our telegram bot that is linked to our database shall also be presumed to be “collected”.
2.2 The types of information collected include mobile number, name, postal code or any other information that is necessary for the sole purpose of carrying out our tutor-matching operations. Ministry of Tuition will not rent, sell, or share personal information about you with anyone except to provide services you have requested. We do not collect NRIC of any persons.
3.1 Our service uses above-mentioned information for the following:
3.2 We are fully compliant with Do Not Call Register (DNC) requirements and do not send any unsolicited messages to the general public. Only users who have engaged our services or voluntarily provided their contact information via our website or other channels shall receive marketing information from us.
3.3 Without consent, we will not publicly reveal any private information such as school results of tutee, handphone number, or full addresses, to anyone except when necessary such as giving the address of the client to the tutor for the purpose of carrying out tuition lessons
4.1 We will retain any personal data collected for the ease of providing future services for clients as well as for tutors. Tutors will be able to apply for multiple assignments using the same profile while clients can request for tuition for other subjects using the same details.
4.2 If you wish to remove your personal data from our database, we will process it within 7 business days.
5.1 There are a few measures that Ministry of Tuition has implemented in our operations in order to safeguard your personal data:
6.1 Our computers, telegram bot, databases are secured with different sets of password locks and are physically kept out of reach of the general public
6.2 There is a segregation of duties within Ministry of Tuition and all staff have limited access to your Personal Data. Proper authorization is required to view more sensitive information about your payment information and full addresses.
